11/4/2023 0 Comments Guinness world records gatlinburgMy husband and I both played a bunch of games, and our boys were busy for two hours! We would have stayed but had to leave for dinner. Everything was working, and it was not so crowded that we had to wait to play the games. Honestly, I could not have been more impressed! From memory we counted more than 20 different games that we could play. There is info about all sorts of world records along with all the games. And THEN the fun begins! There are so many games downstairs that all have to do with world records- hula hoops, quick draw, typing, pogo stick, loudest scream, puzzles, memory games, skee ball, throwing games, dancing. We went on a Saturday afternoon (around 4:00 or so) with him and our 4-year old and had a blast! Upstairs as you walk in, you'll find lots of info about how the recording of world records began. Reviews on this were a little misleading- this place is great! My 7-year old son recently started learning about world records and would not stop pestering us to take him. We spent about 3 hours there and could have gone longer if we didn't have to go home the next day. It wasn't my favorite TN attraction we went to, but well deserving of 5 stars for what it was. Our competitive spirits were alive and well and we all left with bragging rights even the littler ones who didn't beat records but did great and "thought" they beat records!Ī few things you'll see: screaming booth contest, word and picture/intelligence type games, agility, speed, athletics, bball, punching board, Lincoln Log building, piano game etc. This year 10yo beat a Domino stacking speed contest record, and my husband actually came within I think 2-3 seconds or less? of beating an actual Guinness Record on speed Pac Man and qualified to compete in the typing contest to beat another real, overall typing record. Go mom! Last year, I was the only one who beat a record. ![]() This year I beat another record on a speed word identification game. Last year at my first Ripley's (non aquarium visit) I/mom beat a record on a word memory game. We went on Monday night around 7 and had almost the whole place to ourselves (figured people at dinner would give us less of a crowd). What makes it cool is that you are competing against all others who played there that day and you are not playing mainly typical arcade games. I agree that this is like an arcade, but not just any arcade. You get lanyards and badges to keep track of scores or any records you may break for the day. To the best of my recollection, for the 5 of us, it was $75-80. ![]() Parking of $10 nearby was a bit much for us visiting one place, but reasonable if you planned to spend the day in town. Got coupons from vistor's center on way into area. The 8 and 10yo boys are particularly fascinated by Guinness records.
